The Super Eagles have received further assurances from top officials regarding the settlement of their long outstanding allowances and bonuses, some of which date back four years. Chairman of the National Sports Commission NSC, Shehu Dikko, and its director general, Bukola Olopade, personally met with the team after dinner on Tuesday night to address their concerns.

Dikko reassured the players that the payments would be made soon and promised a special welfare package for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which resume in March 2025. Olopade, known for advocating better welfare for athletes, vowed to deliver on his promises or resign from his position.
