  12. <code class="command">ALTER AGGREGATE</code> changes the definition of an
  13. aggregate function.

  15. You must own the aggregate function to use <code class="command">ALTER AGGREGATE</code>.
  16. To change the schema of an aggregate function, you must also have
  17. <code class="literal">CREATE</code> privilege on the new schema.
  18. To alter the owner, you must also be a direct or indirect member of the new
  19. owning role, and that role must have <code class="literal">CREATE</code> privilege on
  20. the aggregate function's schema. (These restrictions enforce that altering
  21. the owner doesn't do anything you couldn't do by dropping and recreating
  22. the aggregate function. However, a superuser can alter ownership of any
  23. aggregate function anyway.)

  48. The recommended syntax for referencing an ordered-set aggregate
  49. is to write <code class="literal">ORDER BY</code> between the direct and aggregated
  50. argument specifications, in the same style as in
  51. <a class="xref" href="sql-createaggregate.html" title="CREATE AGGREGATE"><span class="refentrytitle">CREATE AGGREGATE</span></a>. However, it will also work to
  52. omit <code class="literal">ORDER BY</code> and just run the direct and aggregated
  53. argument specifications into a single list. In this abbreviated form,
  54. if <code class="literal">VARIADIC "any"</code> was used in both the direct and
  55. aggregated argument lists, write <code class="literal">VARIADIC "any"</code> only once.
